Move plants with confidence

If you're redesigning an existing garden, the plants you already have are an asset — not a problem to work around. Samantha Bailey relocates established shrubs, perennials, and trees to better positions in your yard, improving your garden's structure, balance, and aesthetic without the cost of starting from scratch. The goal is a garden that looks exactly the way you want it to — using what's already growing.

Who this service is for

This service is for homeowners who are rethinking their garden's layout and want to make the most of what they already have. You're not unhappy with your plants — you're unhappy with where they are. Maybe the garden has grown in a direction you didn't intend. Maybe you're adding a new element — a patio, a path, a bed — and things need to shift to accommodate it. Maybe you've just developed a clearer vision of what you want and the current layout doesn't reflect it.

Whatever the reason, Samantha can move your plants to where they belong — and make the redesign look intentional from day one.

What's included

In-person garden assessment
Samantha evaluates your existing plantings in person — what's healthy enough to move, what's better left in place, and what the new layout should accomplish. Every decision is made with your design goals and the plant's health in mind.

Transplant plan and placement
Before anything is moved, Samantha maps out where each plant is going and why — accounting for mature size, sun, soil, and how relocated plants will relate to everything around them.

Expert transplanting technique
Timing, root ball preparation, hole depth, backfill, and post-move watering all determine whether a transplanted plant thrives or struggles. Samantha handles every step correctly.

Post-move care guidance
You leave knowing exactly how to water, mulch, and monitor your relocated plants through establishment. Most transplant failures happen in the weeks after the move — Samantha makes sure you know what to watch for.

The misconception worth addressing

Transplanting has a reputation for being risky — and it doesn't have to be.

Done at the right time, with the right technique, most established shrubs and perennials relocate successfully. The variables that matter are timing relative to the plant's growth cycle, how much of the root system is preserved, and what happens in the days immediately after the move. These aren't mysteries — they're knowable, manageable factors that Samantha accounts for in every transplant she does.

The risk isn't in moving the plant. It's in moving it without knowing what you're doing. That's exactly what this service removes.
